Saturday Racing Preview 25.11.2023

Welcome back folks, I’ve decided from this week to preview some of my fancies for the weekend rather than walkthrough every race as tbh it was a pain in the hole 😂 wasn’t enjoying writing as wasn’t giving myself the time to produce quality analysis of my opinions.

Onwards..

Grey Dawning 2/1 13.50 Haydock

Grey Dawning looked a big brute of a stayer last year winning that Warwick G2 in the mud where half the field finished tailed off or pulled up he loves to hack around tough conditions and as we well know Haydock can turn up in their own little unique form of soft ground (which the going is as I write this). He’s up against Gaillard Du Mesnil who hasn’t ran since the Grand National, is well and truly exposed over fences now having enjoyed a successful second season novice campaign last year is definitely vulnerable to an improving horse. Apple Away has shown great form over hurdles but I would find it tough to back having its first start in this company. Grey Dawning for me jumped well on debut when given a lovely education and involved in a good finish with Stay Away Fay and The Changing Man. I’m hoping he’s up to the task tomorrow with a run under his belt being a big advantage in comparison to the other two.

Strong Leader 4/1 2.05 Ascot

If you can put this fellas last run out of your mind where it just had to be too bad to be true, then he has a huge chance here tomorrow. Finished less than two lengths behind Inthepocket at Aintree on Good to Soft, who would absolutely rout these in my opinion. The ground is to his liking tomorrow (Good). If he comes on from his first run 4/1 is just bonkers. He’s a very very good horse and I think if he’s right again tomorrow he will take all the beating.

Affordale Fury 10/3 13.23 Punchestown

One of the biggest puzzles of the weekend and here’s my answer to it. Loved this fella from the day he came down at Navan this time last year, he ran a stormer that day and has come on leaps and bounds when moved up to 3 miles. Has beaten Sandor Clegane over hurdles at the Cheltenham festival was only beaten by a real good thing at Punchestown in Gaelic Warrior and with how the Cheltenham horses were running there, a lot of them, he was very respectable. More importantly he’s come out and won over fences first time up against a decent horse who re opposes – Favori De Champdou. Now it is a very tough race but I think he’s more than good enough, he’ll have sharpened up for that experience and will enjoy heading back to Punchestown again. He’s my bet here.

That’s my three best bets with a bit of value but of course there’s always time for a Saturday muggy acca.

Bravemansgame

Shishkin

Gaelic Warrior

State Man

Chianti Classico

6/1 shite value 😂🤝

Best of luck folks 🍀
